Hi,

I got my relex smile done on 30th sept 2016. My vision was blurr the same day but it improved the next day. my both eye had 6/9 vision. after 1 week my right eye became 6/6 while my left eye were still 6/9 and that's why my overall vision was still blurr but doctor told me that's it's normal and your eye is healing properly. after 3 weeks, still the result was same. now since last 3 days my right eye has also become blurr. i visited my doctor yesterday but he told me that everything is fine and it's just your illusion. my eyes readings were -0.25 in right eye and +0.50 in left eye. Now it's difficult for me to work on system. i cann't see my system clearly so i am on leave. Kindly suggest me what should i do as it has become very frustrating for me. My eyes feel very stressed when i try to look on system. Sir i have recently joined the company so it has become very difficult for me to take more leaves, Please do the needful.

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to let you know the one thing that i have observed. whenever i wake up, i am able to see the things clearly for next 5-10 minute but my vision again become blurr after that. also if i stare on something, i find myself a little bit able to read it. My Dr. told me that its because your eye is getting healed. But i am actually unable to read the text on the screen with the blurr vision and hence unable to work. As you told i will try the glass today and will let you know the outcomes. I just wanted to know Dr. that will it be fine with some time? or is it going to be like this always? I am very afraid, please let me know.
aaliya,

Your doctor is correct in saying that your eyes are still healing. However, your eyes are also attempting to deal with the refractive imbalance and your work is demanding better vision.

No one can guarantee what your final outcome will be, but wearing the glasses will NOT alter your final surgical outcome. It is important to know that the glasses will put your eyes at rest when reading and in other visual activities but not disturb the surgical result.

The reason your vision is clearer some times than at other times may be based on how your visual system is dealing with the imbalance, that is, adapting. I have seen patients who are able to suppress one eye to relieve the visual strain of the imbalance, but not all patients will adapt in this way so they will be happier wearing glasses full time.

Patients who wear glasses and or contact lenses who develop changes in their prescriptions appreciate having those changes corrected with updated lenses. Frequently those changes do not affect both eyes equally, meaning that the prescription changes in one eye more than the other. Correcting the imbalance in these cases relieves the patients' symptoms and they easily understand and accept the need for different glasses or contact lenses. Refractive surgery patients are different; they expect to NOT wear glasses again so they judge, understandably, their surgical result as unsatisfactory.
Hi,

I wanted to update you on my condition. I visited my doctor for glass so that i could go back to my work. But my doctor told me to wait for some time so that eye will adapt the normal vision on its own with time. I did the same and now again my right eye is fine. Means my right eye vision has improved a little bit but my left eye vision is still same, it's still blurr. I just wanted to know that will it be fine with time or this is maximum healing that is done, because now it's been a long time since relex smile done on my eyes.
aaliya,

This is what I wrote above:

In your postings here you complain about not being able to work because of a refractive imbalance.

Having to wear glasses AFTER surgery is not the outcome promised so your doctor is naturally reluctant to recommend glasses. Your eyes will not just adapt to the imbalance. I have been practicing a long time, aaliya. I volunteer my time here to help people with misunderstandings about their vision.
