Hi from Ottawa, Canada. I had LASIK in March of 2018 and am just starting out on my post-op complications journey.

I am experiencing dry eyes (grittiness mostly) and the eye fatigue that goes with it. I have been reading about nerve growth factor and the possible promise it holds. Does anyone have experience with it?

I believe it's not available in Canada yet, correct?

I am not sure if nerve growth exists yet, at best it might be in the stage of clinical trial. I had my LASIK in 2012 and lived in Toronto for 4 years during that period, the climate was so dry over there it did not aid the recovery of my eyes. Now I'm relocated back to Hong Kong for 3 years now, I was still getting the headaches and eye strain issues. Until I recently went to see an ophthalmologist. For the dried eyes, and eye strains. The solution for me was prescribed Ciclosporin eye drops to reduce the inflammation and force the oil glands to produce more oils naturally to protect natural tears from evaporating too quickly and switch from artificial tears to gel type lubricant that also includes an oil layer, the one I used is called Rohto Dryaid EX, a Japanese brand. You could find something similar in Canada. Most of the time my natural tears production was sufficient but it gets evaporated too quicker causing the dried eyes which lead to headaches, dizziness and eye strain consequences.
