Is there any relationship between cataract surgery and dry eye?

So, I went to an eye specialist in Toronto for a cataract surgery last week. After the consultation, I became more worried than ever and asked him to advance the surgery to next month. I am worried now because he told me, I also have dry eyes, a medical condition generally associated with fewer tears to lubricate and nourish the eye. I heard that there is a close relationship between dry eye and cataract surgery and the surgery may exacerbate pre-existing dry eye. If this true, then it will worsen my situation instead of improving it.

So, can someone please confirm whether there is any relationship between dry eye and cataract surgery? If yes, is there any risk if I option for cataract surgery or should I wait for it to go away itself?

I had bilateral cataract surgery in 2012. I had pre-LASIK dry eye, which got much worse after LASIK. Cataract surgery had zero effect on my dry eye. I've asked Dr. Hartzok, VSRN's executive director whether this is a concern. He has been managing cataracts for many years, and has never found cataract surgery to be an issue for dry eye.
