I had my Lasik surgery last week on Oct 22. My eyes were -6 right eye and -4 left eye prior LaSik. My vision was 20/15 with contacts and corrected glasses. After surgery, day 1 I saw very blurry and hazy. O.D. diagnosed me with DLk and put me on oral steroids 40mg x4 days and prednisone every 2 hours. Today is day 6 and my eye vision is still hazy and blurry at distant. Has anyone here experienced dDLk? If so, how long did it take to resolve it and did you get 20 20 vision back ? I am so frustrated at this point since the outcome is worse than expected.
Many people who have LASIK develop DLK, also known as Sands of the Sahara. I did, but my surgeon refused to see me, and I was left with a scar on my right cornea before it finally resolved. Fortunately, your surgeon has treated you with the usual steroids, so once the DLK has fully resolved, if your distance vision is still not clear, you may find that you are over- or under-corrected. Is it in both eyes or just one?
You are still very early in the healing period, so your final outcome may turn out to be better than what you have now.
This is for both eyes. I have been depressed for 5 days and could not sleep due to side effects of prednisone. I wish I didn’t do lasik and kept my glasses or contact lens. But I guess time will tell.
