I'm hopeful that I can help some of you by writing this testimony.

I had an unhappy refractive surgery experience in 1998 with an unsuccessful enhancement in 1999. What followed was much sadness and remorse. Thoughts of my degraded vision were ALWAYS with me, even though I had a busy life raising four children. The first few years after it happened, I often thought of how many more years I may have to live with butchered eyes.

I tried fittings with RGPs to no avail, as they always fogged up and hurt alot. One pair gave me vision I was happy with, but the fit was too tight. This caused excrutiating pain upon removal of the lenses.

My eyeball shape is still pretty good for soft lenses, so I felt I should pursue. I had never worn them prior to surgery, as I had always worn RGPs. Dryness was a big issue on my terribly dry eyes. They didn't do much for my GASH, although made it a little more bearable. Only one brand was acceptable to me, but not in every lighting situation. Hotel hallways were brutal, people near light were always blotted out, and I still saw many moons, the most upsetting phenomenon of all.

Now, note here that I tried EVERY soft lens on the market. Each one gave me different GASH effects. The two kinds I wore that did manage to give me decent acuity either didn't help with contrast or actually increased glare.

I was searching the internet, at the end of my rope, when I cam across the Optical Connection, Inc. site where I read about the new Definition AC lenses. I read about their aberration control technology. Hmm, I thought - I could use that! I asked my doctor to please look into this for me and he then ordered me a sample pair. I was in the meantime hoping these would be different from the rest.

It was immediately apparent to me that these lenses WERE very different from the rest. The first day I wore them, I was very emotional, as it was the first time in six years that my vision was how I remembered it when corrected with RGPs before the surgeries. Everything looked vivid and vibrant. Contrast was much improved and starbusts and ghosting were GONE.

I've been wearing Definition ACs now for over two months. I have excellent, sharp vision with extreme comfort. I wear them at least 12 hours a day. My eyes feel fresh when I remove them, not dry like other soft lenses made them feel.

I can see fine details of people standing near light. I can recognize people in dimly lit hallways in sharp detail. At night, I see one of each traffic sign with clear cut borders. The best part is no matter what phase the moon is in, I can look up at it without dread. It's always one perfect, clear moon.

From what I understand, Optical Connection, Inc will soon be making custom soft lenses in addition to regular, toric, and multifocal.

Their website is http://www.opticonnection.com/defac.html.

From there, you can click on the products to view them.
