Hi there. Thank you for your response earlier to my question about contact lenses. Since I'm not able to reply directly to that I have to post a new topic.

I still would like to know about the impression that the contact lens is making on my eye. I know it's not desired but how bad is it for my eyes? We're getting closer to a good fit - the impression isn't as pronounced and it's more comfortable - but it's still not right and the contact lens specialist is running out of ideas. She told me not to wear the lenses for more than a few hours. We're fitting me with the Dyna Z Intra-Limbal Special Reverse Geometry Series lens, using Menicon Z Material, from Lens Dynamics in Colorado.

Thanks.

An entire descipline in contact lens fitting is based on making impressions on the cornea with RGPs - corneal refractive therapy. So, the molding in and of itself is not a problem with daily wear RGPs. However, if the molding generates irregular corneal optics, then this is a problem upon removing the lenses. Molding can, in some cases, improve the vision post-wear. If this can be controlled and "prescribed", it would not be anything to worry about.
