I love this lens!!! This lens has given me the most freedom. I don’t have to carry around a plunger everywhere I go. Not that that is so difficult...it is just not convenient at all times. I can use the same solution on both of my lenses. The positives out weigh the negatives. The only negative is, I have distortions in extreme low lighting...but I have had that with every lens since Lasik. This lens has not been working for all people...but it is great for me. Hopefully they can perfect the fit for others as time goes by.

Brenda:

Is this for severe dry eyes? I have no tears and am looking for some relief for my dry eyes. I have good distance vision but I do need reading glasses. Would this be suitable for me?

Suefly,

The lens has 100 oxygen permability. I do not think that it can add tears but it won't dry your eye out. I have a very dry eye also (the lasiked eye). And it gets very dry at the end of the day with all contacts but this one. I can take this lens out at night and my eye is not screaming. When I remove all other lenses, there is a few minutes of extreme pain and my eye watering. I do not have this sensation with this lens.

Owen,

The lens is still in the trial period. I can not wait till it is in full production.

Brenda,
I am so glad to hear that you are finding alot of relief with this lens. It's the most hopeful news that I've heard too. I'll be lining up when it's available to all of us!

Somedude_m,

My eyesight has been anywhere from -22.00D to -8.50 D since surgery. I have been between 3 to 8 D of astigmatism and I have K readings in the 50's. I still see some GASH, but it is diminished. Because I have damage to the bottom of my cornea, I think that I will always have this problem.
The contact is a softperm. A softperm is a hard lens with a soft lens skirt. The hard part of the lens is somewhat flexible. This lens has a 100 oxygen permability, so it is good for your eye.
Hope I answered all of your questions.

Brenda:

How does this Synergeyes lens differ from the Ciba Softperm that's now on the market? They both seem similar to one another. Have you tried the Softperm?

Mbryan,

They are simular. The new lens has 100 oxygen permability. I also believe it has a larger optical zone. I have not had this confirmed.

Well.....I have one more month of the study left. I definitely love this lens. It is better then any other lens I have used. I will recommend that this lens be made into a monthly lens as they tear easily (about monthly) and take a long time to get a new one. The lens is comfortable, easy to care for and can be worn for a long period without drying. I feel this lens can help some people, but will not help all.

Hi Brenda,

I was just wondering how things are going and if you have heard when this lens will be available to the public. I am post RK and have been struggling to find something that will work for the past three years.

Thanks,
Paul

Paul,

I am unsure if this lens will be approved by the FDA as it seems to tighten up on people with time. I feel that if they made this lens a monthly disposable it would work great for many. About the time that it tightens up or tears, it could be thrown away and we could start over.

I have worn three of these lenses so far. The first lens was great, but it tore. The second lens was pretty good and also tore. The third lens never did fit right or give me the kind of vision the first lens did. Lets see how lens number 4 does.

I am praying that this lens is approved as a disposable.

We have been stuggling to get another lens that fits and has the right vision. We have the fit down now, but need to get the perscription to match. The first two lenses were great. But, I kept tearing them after a month or so.
