I do not think I am as bad off as most people on this board. What upsets me is the lack of information and support given by the surgeons.

I had my Lasik done on February 17, 1999. The issue of starbursting and halos was casually skipped before the operation. I was told that I was the "perfect candidate" and decided to proceed. The procedure was VERY painful. Most people state otherwise but I have talked to one other gentleman who experienced the same pain. I instantly realized something was wrong when this "painless" procedure hurt like hell.

I then experienced halos, haze, starbursts-like I had very dirty contacts in my eyes. I was told this would go away after 6-8 weeks. I did not. It has now been four months. I wear glasses at night and am still hopeful that the vision will clear up like the doctor says it will.

I am upset that the side effects are glanced over before the surgery. I am also upset that there are people out there who are a lot worse off than I am. This is a scary surgery and the marketing that is taking place on the radio and in the print make the procedure sound like it is a miracle.

God bless all who have had complications with the procedure or who had it and are nervous about the outcome because the doctors can not give straight answers.
