Glad I found this website! Hello, everyone! Had RK in 94-95-in phoenix,az. ended up with over 30 cuts in left-16 in right. had been "coping" with glasses-several prescriptions due to the constant changing of my vision. night driving is impossible. just recently noticed a large decrease in contrast-went for a new eyeglass prescription and was handed a consult for "corneal transplant" consult. Dr. told me I was "essentially blind in one eye-and not doing too well in the other." He wrote on the consult-"extensive corneal scarring due to rk incisions-best correctible vision L 20-80 R 20-30.
i am barely coping at work-i frequently get dizzy walking down the hall from the visual distortion. i was told contacts would be unbearable-what is the consensus re; corneal transplants?? Have there been any success storys or is it just another bad idea?? Frown Confused
