First of all, sorry for my english and for having mistaken my first post...I'm italian,I'm thirty-two years old.
After a RK surgery carried out in 1994 to correct a light myopia(-3,50 left eye,-3,00r.e)I started suffering from a series of complications mostly caused by an hypermetropia in the left eye and a residual astigmatism in both ones.During these ten years I have tried something like thirty of different glasses' astigmatic graduations but with null results:terrible spasms of my accomodative muscles, continuous fluctuations of my vision have strongly conditioned my own life;but I scraped along...
The situation is changed in 2001 when the right eye has experienced a remarkable visual decrease(approximately -1,00)forcing me to apply first spherical soft lenses and then the toric ones:no good results even if I could appreciate an unexpected right bearableness.
Finally about a month ago,a famous ophthalmologist(the tenth of the series...) has diagnosed the presence of an irregular astigmatism with a small optical zone indicating it as the real origin of all my pains;he has suggested the application of RGP lenses with the intention to modify the morphology of the cornea and as an alternative the possibility of further surgery called "custom ablation".
I have followed the instructions applying RGP lenses but the halos, the dazzles, the insufficient vision and the poor bearableness are unavoidably addressing me towards the second alternative.
The situation is critical:months of horrible vision are leading me to a physical, mental and phychological collapse.
The only good news are that now I have a diagnosis (I hope it is right),that I have found this "community" of people with similar problems shaking off the "halo" of an hypocondriac person the doctors were convincing me to be.
Could anyone help me ?
Could I have informations about the "wavefront technology"?
I'll appreciate any kind of suggestion or response. Thanks in advance.
P.S.Obviously I have neglected to give you the description of how this surgery has seriously impoverished my life reducing it to a bare subsistence.
