Donna's LASIK after RK
I had RK surgery done twice in 1984 in my left eye with a poor outcome (corrected two diopters) with much fluctuation in vision and nightime glare.

I had LASIK done over the RK eye in of July 1998 and LASIK on the right eye in August of 1998. Five weeks after the LASIK procedure, I developed a posterior vitreous detachment leading to massive floaters in each eye .

I am having much difficulty reading, driving and working. It looks like something has expoded in my eyes. I am also scared to death to drive at night because my night vision is so poor due to the glare. The glare is even worse in the right eye which had only Lasik. I also still have to wear corrective glasses.

I have now been to six Optomologists and two retinal specialists that tell me this is permanant and I must live with it. I was told it was caused from the suction during the procedure.

None of these complications were mentioned to me verbally or in the consent form I signed, except for glare which I was told was rare and if did occur will go away within three months. It has been a year and my eyes are terrible.
