Two weeks ago I developed a somewhat large floater in my right eye. It passes from left to right and then from right to left. Is there something I can do to manage it?

Frank,
A single, large floater like you describe is usually secondary to a posterior vitreous detachment - something that is quite common. However, in a small number of cases, the onset of a PVD is associated with a retinal tear or break. It is important that you see your eye doctor for a dilated, peripheral retinal examination. I see patients with your symptom on the same or next day to rule out such retinal problems. |
