The following events may be of interest to those suffering from dry eye issues:

On February 17th-19th The Dry Eye Zone is hosting a weekend workshop for dry eye patients at the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa (20 min. from Tampa airport). Patients can attend for a day (apprx. 8:30 to 5:30, includes lunch & breaks) or the whole weekend (from 6:30pm Friday to 1:00pm Sunday, includes all meals). Some basic information as well as registration materials and pricing are available on the website at www.dryeyezone.com/events, and more details will be filled in over the coming weeks.

Also, as part of that event we'll be having a couple of break-out sessions at 9:30 am on the Sunday morning (Feb 19th) for specific groups of dry eye patients, including one for LASIK/RS patients that will be co-hosted by LaserMyEye. That session will I'm sure end up being much broader than just dry eye. We would like to open up attendance at this part to any complications patients who could benefit from connecting with other patients but who aren't able or don't choose to attend the other events. Patients from the LME and VSRN communities are welcome to attend, including joining us for lunch courtesy of the Dry Eye Zone.

Can someone come and just attend this break-out session for LASIK/RS patients if they are not interested in spending the $80 for the Dry Eye Zone weekend? Thanks.

I simply posted what I received as a public service to patients with dry eye issues.

If you go to the link provided in the information above, you may find that information. Otherwise, you could email them and ask.

Hi, Here's the scoop on the Sunday session for LASIK/RS patients:

On Sunday morning, February 19th at 9:30 we will hold two parallel workshops: Workshop 5 (for Sjögrens patients) and Workshop 6 (for laser eye surgery patients), followed by a buffet lunch.

Space permitting, attendance is open and free of charge for patients who wish to attend but are not participating in the Workshop on Saturday. Precedence will be given to members of the Sjögrens Syndrome Foundation and participating members of the online communities of Dry Eye Talk, D'Eyealogues and Vision Surgery Rehab Network.

Hi all you dry-eyers! Just a quick reminder about the Wellness Workshop Weekend Feb. 17-19, 2006 at the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa (near) Tampa.

For the latest info: http://www.dryeyezone.com/events/index.html

Many of you will be familiar with at least a couple of the illustrious scheduled speakers...Gloomsburg (Mary Kenny Badami), CathyBC; an exhibit featuring Dr. Holly in-person; yours truly (not speaking, I'd rather chew nails than speak publicly), Phyllis...we'll all be there and are looking forward to seeing everyone!

Be there - or be square. I'm bringing my vibrating eye mask and also the orange-mirrored Clic goggles Cindy gave to me. I'm not too proud to wear orange-mirrored goggles!
