Has anyone found that sucessful treatment of dry eye, either through having upper or lower 'plugs' fitted or tear supplement has lead to an improvement in vision in dim lighting.

I find my vision is much better when my eyes are 'wetted' all things seem to illuminate better and therefore I am hoping that treatment of my suspected dry eye will have some improvement with poor vision in dim light (overview -10 years post op PRK!) still searching for a solution.

Much obliged to anyone who can help

Dry eye can impair vision in all lighting, so it stands to reason that if one can successfully treat the dry eye problem, vision in all situations is improved. I have extreme dry eye. I get what I call "velour vision," where everything becomes very fuzzy and I can see nothing clearly, even with correction. Drops generally result in immediate relief, and even with my poor contrast sensitivity, I notice an improvement.

For anyone interested Safe-gel 1 day lenses by Safilens have proven to be the best I have found for dry eyes. They have a hydrogel substance that slowly releases - they are an italian brand and a bit tricky to get hold of - far better than acuvue moist, focus dailies etc for me.
