"Buoyed by the success of Intacs for keratoconus and keratectasia, several surgeons, including Boxer Wachler, are attempting to standardize the outcomes with a nomogram, said Mitchell A. Jackson, M.D., clinical associate professor of ophthalmology, University of Chicago. “The problem is that because keratoconus is a disease of the cornea, there really can’t be a true nomogram when you’re trying to fix an abnormality. We’re just going to have to figure out which patients are going to have the best chance of a good result, and try to limit the procedure to those patients,” Mitchell said."
